Organisers of The Tour of Pembrokeshire, one of the most iconic cycling events in Wales, are arranging a virtual event to raise money for farming charity R.A.B.I.

With farm visits on hold and LEAF Open Farm Sunday postponed to September, the organisers, Linking Environment And Farming, have announced they are running their very first LEAF Online Farm Sunday.

Hundreds of agricultural shows up and down the country forced to cancel owing the Coronavirus Pandemic, to honour them, The Greatest Agricultural show was born and will go online on the 2nd May.

Ceva Animal Health has launched Cattle Ruminations on Lameness – a Virtual Roadshow to enable registered mobility scorers and qualified foot trimmers to catch up on CPD during lockdown.

At the request of a large number of exhibitors and organisations from the agricultural machinery industry whose production and distribution activities have been hit hard by today’s public health and economic crisis, the organisers of SIMA have decided to hold the next edition of the show during its historical dates in February 2021 (from Sunday 21st to Thursday 25th February 2021).

This is just one of the top lots being offered as part of an online charity auction being hosted by Cheffins Auctioneers from 17th – 24th April.

“This year’s AgriScot is scheduled to take place on Wednesday 18th November and at present the expectation is that the event will be staged as normal” says AgriScot Chairman, Robert Neill

Few other dealer events boast a history or following like the Doe Show, which takes place annually at Ernest Doe & Sons’ Ulting, Essex headquarters. This year celebrated 60 years since company founder Ernest Doe arranged the first get-together of suppliers, customers and friends shortly after the close of the game shooting season. With local fields just about dry enough for spring drilling, many exhibitors at the G&J Peck Spalding depot annual open day feared attendance would suffer but, with orders placed and many enquiries for follow-up, the day was judged a great success. David Williams was there.

As farmers battle a set of unique and complex challenges, the trend for branching out into new revenue streams, outside of traditional farming, is becoming increasingly important.
