Providing an alternative to cancelled events this summer, the Livestock Innovation Day is set to bring together several industry experts to cover new developments, best practices, and a deep insight into what’s happening in the industry right now.
Taking place on Thursday, 30th July, the virtual event will open with a keynote presentation from Adam Quinney, Chair of AHDB Beef & Lamb and former NFU Vice President, discussing best use of on-farm data. From the latest trends in production and sales, to the importance of public education and attracting new talent into the industry, attendees will be able to drop in on a wide range of talks.
Recordings of all sessions will be made available for those who have registered, allowing you to watch later if you are unable to join any of them.
Highlights of the free online event taking place from 10:00am – 3:00pm include:
- Adam Quinney – discussing how to identify the right KPIs to help farmers achieve commercial improvement from the huge volume of farm data now available.
- Abi Reader MBE – Welsh dairy farmer and farming campaigner from CowsOnTour, an initiative she founded to educate inner-city children about how their food is produced. Abi will explain how we all have a role to play in education for the future security of the industry.
- Laura Ryan – Chair of Meat Business Women, the professional networking group for women working in the meat industry. Laura will outline the importance of developing the image, culture and landscape of the meat industry to make it more attractive to female talent.
- Presenters from Tru-Test, Stabiliser Cattle Company and Sell My Livestock providing updates and insight on the latest best practices to help beef and sheep producers.
Campbell Mauchan, UK General Manager at AgriWebb, said: “Our virtual events in the past four months have attracted more than 350 attendees. While we can’t wait to get together in person once again, these online talks and Q&As have become a popular way to listen live to the best in the industry without disrupting your daily work. Livestock Innovation Day brings together an excellent group of presenters, each of whom have hands-on farming experience, ensuring attendees can go away feeling educated and armed with new knowledge to implement in their own business.”
