Search continues for missing Irish farmer Michael Gaine

Gardaí in Kerry are seeking assistance in tracing the whereabouts of 56-year-old farmer, Michael Gaine, who has been missing for a week.

Mr Gaine was reported missing from his home near Kenmare, Co. Kerry, on Friday 21st March 2025.

Michael, who also goes by Mike, was last seen in Kenmare town at approximately 11:00 am on Thursday 20th March.

Mr Gaine is described as being approximately 5 feet 10 inches tall with a stocky build, brown/grey hair and a bushy beard.

When last seen, the farmer was wearing an orange woolly hat, a black fleece, blue jeans and black boots.

According to the Irish Independent, the force has revealed that the car belonging to Mr Gaine was discovered in his own yard. It now appears he drove home from the shop, and the car remained on his property.

Hundreds of cars were stopped at the checkpoint in the hope that somebody would remember a crucial bit of information that could help gardaí as they continue to search for the farmer, as his family is concerned for his well-being.
