‘Terrifying’ incident on Wiltshire farm: ‘Hilux is a write off and we nearly were too’
15th November 2024
Wiltshire farm owners have been left “terrified” following a traumatic incident that saw several suspects in vehicles surrounding them, ramming their car and shooting out its windows with catapults.
The incident happened on Springbottom Farm in Wilsford in the early hours of Sunday morning, 10th November.
The farm owners said that they first heard engines revving and shouting, which was followed by “some lights”.
“Thinking whoever was out there was on The Down hare coursing, we headed to the field opposite to observe and report to the police.
“But… suddenly we were surrounded by about half a dozen vehicles. We were rammed at least twice, the windows were shot out with ball bearings, and there are ball bearing strikes round the passenger window. Terrifying.
“The Hilux is a write off, and we nearly were too. I’m no legal expert, but it felt very much like attempted murder.”
