Devon: Man charged following knife incident at farm shop

A man has been charged following an incident that involved a knife at a Devon farm shop.

Devon and Cornwall Police were called to Darts Farm in Topsham, near Exeter, on Monday, March 17, after receiving reports of a man with a knife. 

Nicholas Courtney, 45, of no fixed abode in Exeter, was arrested at the scene and then was charged with affray, threatening a person with a bladed article, assault by beating of an emergency service worker, and two counts of possessing a blade in a public place. 

No injuries have been reported, the force confirmed. 

A statement from Devon and Cornwall Police reads: ‘Police were notified at 10.45am on Monday 17 March to reports of a man with a knife at Darts Farm, Topsham, who had been restrained by shop staff.’
