The Barry Gowler Memorial Tractor Run will take place on Sunday 30th June.

The event is organised in memory of a farmer with a passion for tractors.

Mr Gowler died in December 2021, leaving behind wife Zoe and their two young sons. He spent his final days being cared for at Sue Ryder Thorpe Hall Hospice.

The tractor run participants will be raising money for Macmillan Cancer Support and Sue Ryder Charity.

70 tractors expected to take part

The tractor run will start at Helen’s Farm in Meadow Lane at 10.30 am before travelling to Ramsey via Upwood and Ramsey Heights.

The route will then continue through Bury to Warboys, with a break at Johnsons of Old Hurst between 11.40 am and 1.15 pm.

The participants will then drive to Pidley and Fenton, as well as through Wistow and Little Raveley. The event will finish at Helen’s Farm at around 3 pm.

A Cambridgeshire Police spokesperson said residents of Ramsey, Warboys, and surrounding villages should expect “a large amount of tractors” on the roads as part of the event.

More than 70 machines are expected to take part in the event, covering the 26-mile route.

Police officers will be in attendance, supporting the event.
