Silostop Agri and FCN join forces to help struggling farmers
10th February 2025
Silostop Agri has announced its partnership with The Farming Community Network (FCN), which aims to open up direct lines of communication between farmers who are heading towards or experiencing difficulties.
FCN is a charity dedicated to helping farmers through the unprecedented challenges and changes the agricultural sector is experiencing.
Part of the Milbank group, Silostop Agri specialises in silage protection and livestock wellbeing. It has been formed through the merger of several agricultural businesses, including Intershape.
They offer a range of products and services designed to help farmers produce better silage with less plastic and improve the comfort and performance of their livestock. Through sustainable practices and partnerships, the group is committed to supporting the agricultural community.
Tim Brewer, managing director of Silostop, said: “We are inspired by the exceptional work that FCN do to support farmers and growers.
“We hope that by partnering with them we can help spread the word that there is an understanding person at the end of the phone who understands farmers and rural life and can help them navigate the challenges life can present.”
Collaborative approach required
The Farming Community Network (FCN) has been supporting farmers since 1995, offering confidential advice and assistance during difficult times.
Over the years, FCN has grown from just reacting to crises to taking a more proactive approach, encouraging farmers to seek help before things get too tough. They offer guidance on everything from managing mental health challenges to planning for the future.
Georgina Lamb, senior partnerships manager at FCN, said: “Supporting our world-class farmers through the changes ahead requires a collaborative approach.
“By working alongside Silostop Agri in this partnership, we hope to highlight the many ways our charity can support people across agriculture and ensure farmers know they are part of a supportive community that is here to listen, talk and help.”
FCN can be contacted confidentially on 03000 111 999 (7am-11pm every day of the year) and help@fcn.org.uk. For more information please click here.
