The TV presenter and host of the well-known series Clarkson’s Farm opened Diddly Squat farm shop with his partner Lisa Hogan in 2020.

Since then, the shop has become a major tourist attraction, welcoming fans from across the country and beyond.

However, the lack of parking spaces means that visitors are often forced to park on adjacent fields and the side of the road, disturbing land and sparking heated disapproval from villagers.

Police warning

Thames Valley Police have just issued a warning for drivers causing any parking obstructions around the Diddly Squat farm shop, including Chipping Norton Road and the A361.

It reads: “If your vehicle is causing an obstruction on the road, you will be liable to receiving a ticket.

“Your parking could cause a serious accident if it is obstructing the road. Please be mindful of this, so that everyone can enjoy their day.

“Staff at the shop are coping with the demand as best as they can, however, please keep in mind there is currently a two and a half hour wait to get into the shop.”

Mr Clarkson commented on the warning by saying: “Please think about visiting some of our local friends and businesses first before coming to Diddly Squat today. We are very busy and cannot guarantee entry.”

Important notice

Mr Clarkson also issued an “important notice” to his fans, who have been flocking to his shop following the release of season three of the show.

The turnout at the Diddly Squat farm shop has been overwhelming for the shop staff in recent weeks, which prompted Mr Clarkson to post a notice on the shop’s social media: “The shop is very busy, and because of this we cannot guarantee that you will be able to get in.

“Please consider coming mid week if possible and plan your journey in advance.”
