Is Jeremy Clarkson planning to open a pub?

Circling rumours suggest that Jeremy Clarkson is considering purchasing a Cotswolds pub, following his previous plans to open a restaurant on Diddly Squat Farm.

Star of Clarkson's Farm, Jeremy Clarkson, is probably considering purchasing a Cotswolds pub, Coach and Horses Inn in Gloucestershire.

The Clarkson’s Farm star has supposedly set his eyes on a Grade II-listed Coach and Horses Inn located in the picturesque village of Bourton-on-the-Water in Gloucestershire.

Recently put on the market by Stonegate Pub Partners for a retail partnership tenancy, the site neighbours the brewery that produces Clarkson’s Hawkstone Lager, using spring barley grown on Diddly Squat Farm.

The Coach and Horses pub was previously an Indian restaurant popular with local residents.

Planning rows

Back in 2023, the 64-year-old celebrity applied for planning permission to convert his lambing shed into a restaurant that would sell local produce.

West Oxfordshire District Council refused the restaurant application as well as permission to create a car park and farm track to help tackle traffic build-up in the local village, avoiding mud on the roads.

The decision was widely criticised, with Clarkson’s Farm fans accusing the council of treating Diddly Squat Farm unfairly.

In June 2023, Mr Clarkson was finally granted permission to extend the temporary car park at Diddly Squat farm.

New season coming soon

The Cotswolds have become a very popular destination in recent years thanks to the Amazon Prime show.

Clarkson’s Farm fans frequently visit the Diddly Squat Farm Shop, located near Chipping Norton, which reopened in March following its annual winter closure.

Amazon Prime Video announced that season three of the show will air on 3rd May 2024.

The streaming and rental service has also confirmed it is preparing season four of Clarkson’s Farm.
