In pictures: Halloween road run raises money for farm safety charity
29th October 2024
The Spooky Halloween Road Run in Swindon has so far raised around £200 for Yellow Wellies.
A spectacular array of tractors and other vehicles were decorated for Halloween and taken on a charity road run in Swindon on Sunday (27th October).
The run, organised by the Wiltshire Agricultural Preservation Group (WAPG), left from the Sustain Farm Shop in Royal Wootton.
On a 30-mile round trip, the vehicles headed to The Crown Inn, then passed through Avebury and Compton Bassett, to The Duke, then back to the farm shop.
One of the trailers also featured a disco with ‘cackling witches dancing the day away’, organised by WAPG’s youth group.
The run raised around £200 for the Yellow Wellies initiative, which promotes farm safety.
WAPG chairman Jamie Davies said: “I believe the road run was a great success and raised lots of awareness for farmers. The day went incredibly well and ran very smoothly.
“We raised £200 for Yellow Wellies and we hope to raise much more in our Christmas events.”
