Farming podcast hits the charts

With only their third episode released, Rebecca Wilson and Lizzie McLaughlin have managed to find their new podcast in the Apple podcast charts. Their new venture, Boots and Heels, has entered the Apple charts at #200 on the UK’s top Personal Journal sector which is set to continue to rise.

The pair began their journey in March this year, with the aims to break down stereotypes within the farming industry and showcase that agriculture is accessible to all.

With Becca growing up in the farming world and Lizzie finding herself in it just three years ago, the duo came to realise that their very different perspectives are brought together by their love for what they do. If two people from two different backgrounds can thrive in the industry, why can’t others too?

To begin, the first episode revolved around an introduction to the hosts, sharing their stories, roles and aims. The second episode tackled the relevant subject of mental wellbeing and featured special guest speakers Hannah Rees and James Hosking. The episode was well received with the likes of the DPJ Foundation sharing the podcast.

Their latest release responds to the request to discuss career paths within the industry and the ladies speak with Ben Pike, founder of Eve Communications and Director of the British Guild of Agricultural Journalists, to learn more.

Becca, the Boots of the pair, states, “we really want to showcase different career paths and help our listeners to diversify or break into the industry. We want young farmers, the older generation and the general public to consider the various jobs available within farming and that support is available to achieve this”.

After fantastic five-star reviews on Apple podcasts, such as, ‘hosted by 2 lovely ladies it was a breath of fresh air to listen to these discuss agriculture with a different view to the usual’, it is unsurprising that they find themselves climbing the charts.

So, what’s next for Boots and Heels?

Lizzie (Heels) elates, “Well, we have some really amazing surprises to share with everyone. We have some guest speakers who we never thought we would have the chance to work with, website updates that will allow our listeners to really get involved and some secret projects that we can’t release just yet…”

If you would like to keep up to date with the latest Boots and Heels news or listen to the podcast, you can do so by following their social media channels and listening on most streaming platforms (including Apple and Spotify).
