Farmer shares advice following reports of bull on the loose in Wiltshire

Officers kept the bull contained and away from the main road until the local farmer arrived to herd the animal back to his field. 

A spokesperson for the force said: “Amesbury is surrounded by farmland, and upon speaking to the local farmer, he has given us helpful information for dealing with livestock: 

  • Do not enter fields with cows with their calves, as they can become particularly aggressive.  
  • Please remember to close all gates behind you when entering fields. 
  • Do not tamper with electric fencing.  

“We would also like to remind you that if you see any livestock out of their field or on the road, please call us on 999/101 for your safety and the safety of the livestock.”
