Over 1,000 young pancake lovers from Pembrokeshire had a chance to learn how the ingredients for their favourite dessert are produced locally ahead of Pancake Day 2024. 

A free and interactive farming toolkit has been published today, aiming to empower farmers to understand nature markets and help them determine whether they could provide a suitable new income stream for their business. 

On Friday 8th September, the UK’s first BSc (Hons) Regenerative Agriculture students celebrated their success at a well-attended graduation ceremony at Writtle University College (WUC).

The AgriScot Business Skills Competition, sponsored by NFU Mutual and supported by Scotland’s Rural College, looks to support aspiring young professionals by encouraging them to think about the skills required to manage an agricultural business, whilst also connecting them with mentors and networks, to help with their personal and professional development. 

A project being launched by Linking Environment And Farming (LEAF) Education and AHDB will be offering 20 farmers from England and Wales fully funded training to deliver memorable on-farm experiences and help school children better connect with food and farming.

LEAF Education, the lead agri-education organisation in England and Wales, has seen a hugely positive response from schools to the experiential food and farming related national primary school competition, titled ‘All for Farm and Food for All’.

AHDB’s We Eat Balanced campaign will be promoting home-grown meat and dairy using the term ‘British’ for the first time, following a rule change that will allow the organisation to better showcase support to UK farmers.
