Suffolk: Festive tractor run raises over £8K for charity
16th December 2024
Hundreds of people came out to support more than 120 tractor drivers who went all-out on festive decorations.
Now in its third year, the Suffolk Tractor Light Parade has raised thousands of pounds for local charities.
Hundreds of people attended the Clarke & Simpson auction house in Campsey Ashe, where 128 tractors gathered – all bedecked in festive decorations.
Many of the tractors were decorated with ‘Back British Farming’ lights and decorations.
Crowds then gathered at the roadside to see the tractors off at 5pm, and to support them along their route through Wickham Market, Melton, Woodbridge, back to Melton, then through to Eyke, Rendlesham and Tunstall before returning to Campsey Ashe.
Organisers confirmed that over £5,000 has been raised online alone, plus over £3,000 in cash donations.
The funds will be split between three charities: Suffolk Libraries, East Anglian Air Ambulance and Eastern Community Assistance Team.
Organisers said on Facebook that the event had been “unbelievable and very emotional”.
