50 vintage vehicles took part in Shropshire tractor run
19th March 2024
Almost 50 vintage tractors took part in a successful Shropshire tractor run in aid of an Alzheimer’s charity last weekend.
The parade set off from the Oteley Estate in Ellesmere at 10.30am on Sunday 17th March.
The Shropshire TVO & Petrol Tractor Run took a 12-mile circular route that started and finished at the North Shropshire farm.
The event, organised by Henry Cureton, aimed to collect funds for Alzheimer’s Research UK, a charity that works on finding a cure for dementia and associated diseases. The event raised £546.64.
Special tractor run
Mr Cureton said: “Our run was attended by 45 tractors ranging from 1930s into 40s and 50s as well as Series II Land Rovers.
“It was our second event. It took a huge leap in interest and support from last year. We had people taking part from over 80 miles away. I believe it is one of only a very few TVO specific runs in the UK.
“We were also provided with breakfast and a two-course lunch by Oteley.”
Members of the ‘Shropshire TVO & Petrol Tractor Run’ Facebook group shared photos and videos from the event.
