Tractor tyres performance review: Alliance AG II 65 Series

The new series Alliance Agri Star II radial tractor tyres have been in the market for some time now. How have they performed so far?

Alliance AG II 65 Series tyres put to the test.

An example comes from France. In the Vendée region, near the coastal town of Les Sables d’Olonne, Fabrice Richard and his family manage a mixed crop and livestock farm. Their enterprise includes 200 cows, 350 hectares of grassland, and 50 hectares of corn.

Recently, they needed new tractor tyres for their machinery, prioritising width to minimise soil impact and swath disturbance.

Fabrice, who farms with his father and uncle, chose the Alliance Agri Star II 65 Series tyres. These robust tractor tyres are perfect for their 12-tonne tractor-mower setup, especially in challenging wet weather.

“The new 65 series tyres provide excellent balance and grip, which is crucial for our operations,” Fabrice says. Tested on a Fendt 724 during mowing and 5-metre stubble cultivation, these tyres have shown impressive performance and limited slippage.

Lower tyre pressures

Durability is another standout feature, essential for extensive road use with heavy loads. The tyres also boast a high-speed index and are compatible with a 50 km/h gearbox. The consistent width of 71 cm ensures minimal soil impact, crucial for preserving their grassland and cornfields.

Fabrice notes, “Unlike some competitors, the Agri Star II 710 tyres maintain their width, and the double lugs provide excellent grip. These tyres can be operated at low pressure, ideal for wet conditions, reducing soil impact and enhancing driver comfort.” They currently run at 1.4 bar (20.5 PSI), meeting their needs perfectly.

The tractor tyres appear to provide high performance at a reduced cost, making them ideal candidates for British farmers seeking reliability and efficiency in unpredictable weather conditions.
