LH Agro, which, from 1st April 2018, becomes the sole official UK distributor of Topcon Agriculture precision farming equipment, has announced the launch of a new Topcon touchscreen control console, the X23.
Complementing the existing range of X-series control consoles, such as the top of the range 12.1-inch X35, the X23 uses a high-performance 8.4-inch touchscreen and is positioned as an entry-level option.
In common with the wider X-series range, the new X23 runs Topcon’s industry-leading Horizon software – a simple, icon-based operating system which is easy to use and offers operators the option to create bespoke, user-defined screens. It also boasts a bright display which can be viewed in direct sunlight.
The X23 is easy to set-up on a range of farm equipment including all makes of tractors, sprayers and combine harvesters. In its standard configuration, the X23 features manual guidance, but can be unlocked to offer auto-steer, application control, auto-section control and variable rate control as the customer’s requirements grow. It can also be configured to work with all Isobus-enabled machines and implements.
“The X23 console adds to Topcon’s premium range of precision farming systems by bringing an entry-level, yet sophisticated, user-friendly and reliable control system to an increasingly competitive market,” explains LH Agro managing director Richard Reed.
“The X23 can be used as a standalone, all-in-one control system for all Isobus compatible machines and offers functions such as variable rate application and section control of up to 10 sections; features which enable users to eliminate coverage gaps and overlaps, in turn reducing input wastage whilst ensuring optimal crop protection.
“The X23 is an ideal entry-level product for farmers who need a precision farming system capable of operating a variety of implements and who want to maximise their return on investment,” Richard continues. “Like the other models in the X-series range, it can be set-up in accordance with the individual user’s requirements and is perfect either as a standalone solution for first time users of precision farming systems, or as a second screen where more than one console is required across a fleet of machines.
“The launch of the X23 comes as the busy spring drilling, spraying and fertiliser season is about to kick off. As Topcon’s newly announced sole distributor in the UK, we look forward to a busy but successful start to the spring and to talking to new and loyal customers about what the X23 can offer.”
