Lincolnshire-based machinery dealer announced closure
23rd July 2024
After over forty years in business, a family-run agricultural engineering business, R C Setchfield Ltd, decided to close down its premises.
R C Setchfield Ltd, established in 1982, is based in Grantham, Lincolnshire.
The company was founded by Richard and Heather Setchfield, with daughter Hannah Setchfield joining the business in November 2021.
The company focused on the servicing of agricultural machinery as well as selling farm equipment and machinery parts.
The Setchfield family said that the decision to cease the company’s operations is “entirely due to the imminent retirement of Richard Setchfield”.
Not an easy decision
They also confirmed that the company will finish any workshop jobs that are currently being worked on but cannot take on any new jobs.
“Any workshop job that has been booked in but not started, we will not be able to facilitate.
“You will be able to collect any parts that have been previously ordered by our parts team, however, we will not be placing any future non-stock customer specific orders;
“For a period, you will be able to visit our parts showroom and buy items off the shelf;
“Any machinery and equipment currently in stock that has been sold and paid for will be delivered as planned.
“Details of the sale for our remaining stock machinery and equipment will be advertised in due course,” a R C Setchfield’s spokesperson added.
The business also confirmed that the company is solvent, and the staff will be supported during this difficult time.
The owners said: “It is not a decision we have taken lightly. We would like to thank all of our customers for their continued support over the years.
“Any other queries regarding the closure of the company should be addressed in the first instance to hannah@setchfield.co.uk.”
