Armill innovates materials handling sector with lithium-ion technology
28th October 2024
An Essex-based importer and stockist of EP lithium-ion forklifts, Armill Lift Trucks, is at the forefront of advancing lithium-ion technology in the materials handling sector.
The company said that farming businesses have been increasingly switching to Armill for the significant benefits lithium-ion solutions provide, such as fast charging, zero battery maintenance, enhanced safety features, and environmental friendliness.
One notable case study involves a fleet of 10 Armill yard machines operating around the clock at an Aldi distribution centre on a single lithium-ion battery per truck.
The agricultural sector has also embraced these trucks to boost efficiency and cut costs.
Armill’s forklifts range from 1.5 to 16 tonne capacities. EFL353, a 3.5-tonne yard lorry, or potato lorry, all powered by a lithium-ion battery and featuring a six-meter lift triplex mast, are a popular choice.
The quick-charge battery can go from nearly flat to fully charged in around three hours and can be put on charge during breaks, making battery usage worries a thing of the past, Armill confirmed.
Saving money while improving productivity
A spokesperson for Armill Lift Trucks explained that lithium-ion technology is set to save money while improving productivity with cost-effective and zero-maintenance alternatives to traditional lead-acid batteries.
“Lithium-powered equipment offers a vast range of improvements for many warehouses and logistics companies due to the flexibility of charging.
“Opportunity charging allows the operator to simply plug the battery in, instead of replacing the battery like you would with a standard lead-acid battery.
“Extending battery life, eliminating battery upkeep, and the flexibility to charge whenever you like are just some of the reasons why you should choose Lithium-Ion for your operation,” they added.
Armill Lift Trucks, established as a family business in 1991, covers sales in the UK for the EP Equipment range.
The company offers a range of diesel and electric forklift trucks as well as warehousing equipment.
Armill also sells used and refurbished forklift trucks, supplied via direct sales, contract hire or lease, as well as offers gas, diesel and electric machines used for all applications.
