Dairy-Tech to expand with new show features in 2023
23rd November 2022
Dairy-Tech is set to return next year with new show features offering practical advice on lameness management, environmental schemes, and how to build a resilient business during these tumultuous times.
Every year, the show provides a platform for farmers to meet the needs of a modern dairy professional, offering sound business advice and opportunities to keep up to date with new advances and technological developments in the industry.
In 2023, Dairy-Tech will also feature a brand-new Lameness Village where farmers can access expert support, advice and tools for managing lameness in their herd. The initiative has been launched due to the topic gaining increased attention with the rollout of the government’s Animal Health and Welfare Pathway.
There will also be resources to help farmers make the most out of the Environment Land Management (ELM) scheme, such as talks from farming minister Mark Spencer and other Defra representatives.
As always, visitors to this year’s show will have the chance to learn about key industry issues at the Dairy Hub area and discover new products, ideas, technology and concepts at the Innovation Hub.
Tickets are now on sale for Dairy-Tech 2023, priced at £17 per person when bought in advance compared to £20 at the door. The event will take place on Wednesday 1st February at the usual Stoneleigh Park venue in Warwickshire.
In addition, members of the Royal Association of British Dairy Farmers (RABDF) will receive two free complimentary tickets to the event.
Show organiser and RABDF managing director Matthew Knight commented: “Next year’s event is designed to offer practical advice to farmers during what continues to be a volatile marketplace.
“Whether it’s understanding how to make the most out of ELMs or finding ways to cut costs, review your business or better your milk price, Dairy-Tech 2023 has it all.”
Regarding this year’s speakers, Mr Knight was pleased to announce two renowned global dairy speakers will be joining the stage. Prof Frank Mitloehner from the Department of Animal Science at UC Davis, USA, will give the opening talk on what a sustainable dairy system looks like.
Joining Prof Mitloehner will be Dr Matt Utt, senior dairy product analyst at Zoetis, who will outline the basics of how to run a profitable dairy business.
Mr Knight added: “Agriculture is going through some significant transitions, making Dairy-Tech 2023 the ideal place to keep abreast with what is happening in the industry and offering farmers and landowners the most appropriate advice to adapt to some of the changes.
“It is also an opportune time for farmers to see some of the new technology available that could be eligible for grant support under the Farming Investment Fund.
“Dairy-Tech prides itself on being the go-to place for everything relating to new technology, concepts and techniques and never has there been a time when embracing some of these new products has been as important,” Mr Knight concluded.
