Three new companies have enrolled in the European Seed Treatment Association (ESTA), which is operated in the UK by the Agricultural Industries Confederation. The three companies are KWS UK Ltd, T Denne & Sons Ltd and Frontier Agriculture.
ESTA certification is the assurance scheme covering application of plant protection products to seed, handling and use of treated seed to ensure that seed treatments are applied by professionals working to the highest quality standards. The scheme was devised by the European Seed Association (ESA) in response to EU Directive (2010/21) which requires insecticidal seed treatments to ‘only be performed in professional seed treatment facilities.’ ESTA certified treatment facilities may use the ESTA logo on their products to document compliance and facilitate free movement of treated seed throughout the European Union.
The three new members join the existing participants: Agrii, Alexander Harley Seeds (Milnathort) Ltd, Dunns (Long Sutton) Ltd, Elsoms Seeds Ltd, Germains Seed Technology, JE & VM Dalton Ltd, Limagrain UK and Openfield Agriculture.
