Everything you need to know about BPR summit on 16th December in London

At the beginning of the month, farmer and YouTuber Olly Harrison has invited farmers and business owners who have been affected by changes to agricultural property relief and business property relief to gather in London on 16th December. 

The Business Property Relief Summit will take place on Monday at the London Palladium at midday. 

Its organisers said: “Join family businesses from across the country to send a message to the government about the crippling effect of the October Budget. 

“This is your chance to make your voice heard, meet like-minded business people and the media, and hear from impassioned speakers from the trade and political spectrum. 

“It promises to be a powerful event in our ongoing efforts to influence government policy. The three things we want to achieve are for the government to reconsider: the terms of business property relief, the National Insurance raise for all businesses, the terms of agricultural property relief. 

“We need to make sure the true effect of these proposed polices are understood so as not to stifle the growth of businesses and protect the future of our industries. 

“Get ready for a powerful business event in London! We look forward to seeing you there.”

Real stories behind devastating BPR Budget

Mr Harrison has previously said that nearly all farms as well as other businesses have been affected by the changes announced at Autumn Budget.

He added: “If you’ve got a generational business that’s been passed down over the last however many generations, now it’s going to attract a 20% tax bill at the death of an owner.

“We had a big rally in London on 19th November. Well, now we can have a nice warm venue in central London in a big theatre on 16th December.

“We can get some speakers to explain the real stories behind this devastating BPR Budget. Are you up for coming?”
