Hawkstone, a brewery owned by Mr Clarkson, has announced that it is giving away 1,000 kegs of its premium lager or cider to support pubs across the country.

The brewery’s team said that they are “stepping up to help” as they are aware that running a pub is currently very difficult.

The giveaway takes place from Tuesday 11th March until Sunday 30th March 2025. Public houses and bars nationwide are being urged to register to have a chance of receiving a keg of lager or cider .

Therefore, Hawkstone is asking pub lovers to tag their favourite venues on social media so they can win a keg.

A spokesperson for Hawkstone explained: “You can also tell them about our campaign the next time you’re in there for a pint.

“All they need to do is head to hawkstone.com/pages/getakeg, fill out the form to choose whether they want a keg of Hawkstone Premium or Hawkstone Cider, and we’ll be in touch if they’re one of our lucky recipients.

“It doesn’t matter whether they already stock us or they’ve never stocked Hawkstone before – this is open to all. Let’s back our pubs and keep them going through this tough time.”

Who’s going to win?

Jeremy and Kaleb, being who they are, have immediately turned it into a competition between themselves, with the pair taking to Instagram to post about their favourite tipple.

Mr Clarkson is opting for Hawkstone’s award-winning lager and Kaleb for the brand’s delicious flavoursome cider.

The founder of Hawkstone and the owner of the popular Farmer’s Dog Pub in the Cotswolds knows firsthand how challenging it is for pub landlords, and so has decided to build on the success of last year’s initiative – doubling the number of kegs from 500 to a whopping 1,000.

Mr Clarkson said: “The only thing that is saving me from financial ruin is the fact that we (The Farmer’s Dog) serve Hawkstone lager and Hawkstone cider.

“If you’ve got a pub and if you want to see if this strategy works for you as well get in touch with us at our website and if we like the sound of your pub we’ll send you a free keg.”

Keg recipients will be selected and notified from the week commencing on 21st April 2025. Click here to read T&C.
