Claas continues to operate despite shutdowns

Claas and its dealers will continue to operate all parts, workshop, sales and delivery services as normal, while complying with the government’s latest Covid-19 advice, the company says.

Claas and its dealers will continue to operate all parts, workshop, sales and delivery services as normal, while complying with the government’s latest Covid-19 advice, the company says.
In a statement, UK CEO Trevor Tyrrell said: “Despite the Coronavirus pandemic, farming never stops and Claas UK & Ireland are committed to ensure all our customers can continue to grow and harvest crops, and feed livestock, during the busy spring season.”
Farming has been identified as an essential industry employing key workers.
Eight out of 10 factories across Europe that supply Claas UK & Ireland are entering a controlled shutdown period of 2–3 weeks, but most shipping departments remain open to allow all produced machines to reach customers.
The Claas Academy at Saxham is closed for external visitors until Monday 4th May and in the meantime online and digital training will be made available where possible, the company says.
Meanwhile, the parts department at Claas UK at Saxham is now in lockdown mode and will maintain a continuous parts and service operation to customers and dealers over the coming months.
The rest of Claas UK & Ireland is in shutdown mode with all vulnerable and non-essential employees working from home. All usual business activities will continue.
Claas reassured customers that the company and its 80 dealer branches in the UK & Ireland are ready to continue providing full parts and service backup despite partial shutdown. Customers are urged to phone ahead so that all parts and service operations can be completed in a contactless manner.
