Busy time for Essex Young Farmers

The beginning of the new Young Farmer’s year saw the appointment of Essex Young Farmer’s (EYF) new county chair, Hannah Kelsey, reports the organisation.

In addition, EYF were manning the bar at the Barleylands country show, which ran from the 9th–11th of September. As always, the weekend was a huge success with many of our members from across the county arrived to show their support.

The 19^th September saw the beginning of another National Young Farmers Week, allowing clubs additional opportunities to recruit new members and celebrate what it means to be a young farmer. If you are looking to get involved in EYF, there is still time to sign up by contacting the EYF county office, it adds.

In October the clubs will begin hosting their annual harvest suppers to celebrate the successful end to harvest. October is an incredibly busy and sociable time for its members, says EYF with eight suppers being held in one month alone, ending with our harvest festival on October 23^rd.. The service always draws a high turn out with members and subscribers gathering to celebrate all that is positive about the British farming industry.

Finally, at the end of the month, Brentwood YFC will be kicking off the YF party season by hosting its party for Halloween under new leadership, giving members a chance to truly celebrate the end of harvest in full EYF style.
