The charity said that remaining visible on the farm is essential when working before sunrise and after sunset.

Yellow Wellies has issued a list of rules for farmers, which includes:

  • Checking the lights on your machinery to make sure they all are working.
  • Ensuring that barns and outbuildings are well lit. If not, replace the bulbs.
  • Checking that your machine starts up and runs correctly.
  • Always wearing high-viz.
  • Telling someone where you are going if you are working late or getting up earlier than normal.
