Sugar beet campaign in ‘full swing’ as all factories are now open
16th October 2024
The sugar beet campaign is in “full swing” as all factories are now open and ready for beet intake, British Sugar confirmed.
British Sugar has recently shared an update that reads: “With our Cantley site opening last weekend, the 2024/25 sugar beet campaign is in full swing.
“All the best to all our colleagues and partners across the industry for the months ahead.”
Sugar beet growers, hauliers and industry partners have been advised of beet intake times at the factories by email and via our online portal, My British Sugar.
British Sugar is also reminding growers to remember to watch out for overhead powerlines when lifting and loading sugar beet.
“As an absolute minimum, do not operate machinery within 10 metres of any powerlines – which is measured horizontally at ground level from directly beneath a line,” its spokesperson added.

Driver inductions
British Sugar reminds that every driver delivering sugar beet is required to complete a driver induction.
Its spokesperson said: “It doesn’t take long to do with a short film available to watch in six different languages.
“When submitting your induction declaration, please use your own email address; we cannot accept generic farm email addresses as any submissions will be overwritten if the same email address is used over and over again.”
