Engineering student wins new product competition
17th June 2024
Elite Precast has announced engineering student Will Creed is the winner of its new product competition with Harper Adams.
Elite Precast launched the competition with a visit to Harper Adams, where business development director Paul Cartwright and business development manager Louise Chouhan-Hodges outlined the company’s current product profile.
They also shared the manufacturing and quality processes of Elite’s concrete products and the requirements of any new product design.
This was followed by students visiting Elite’s three manufacturing units in Telford to see for themselves the machinery and processes that ensure the quality and durability of Elite’s walling, drainage and security products.
The tour included watching the manufacture of concrete blocks for the Paris Olympics.
Will visited Elite’s office to discuss his winning product.
Paul said: “Working with Harper Adams has been fantastic, Will has taken on the challenge of looking at concrete agri-products and designed a something that takes account of our production techniques, along with customer needs.
“We are looking forward to making and marketing his designs soon.”
As the winner of the competition, Will has received £1,000 and the chance to have his entry produced and marketed by Elite Precast. More details on this will follow, Elite said.
