Fans of the Clarkson’s Farm will be happy to know that Diddly Squat Farm Shop has reopened following its annual winter closure.

The farm shop launched by celebrity and farmer Jeremy Clarkson has already seen hundreds of shoppers visit the store since its reopening on Friday 1st March.

Diddly Squat Farm Shop, located near Chipping Norton, had been temporarily closed during the winter months; however, shoppers could still order products online.

Planning battles with council

In June 2023, after lengthy and well-publicised rows with West Oxfordshire District Council, Mr Clarkson has finally been granted permission to extend the temporary car park at Diddly Squat Farm.

With the farm shop and cafe becoming a major tourist attraction called on by fans from across the country and beyond, the lack of adequate parking has meant that visitors were often forced to park on adjacent fields and the side of the road, disturbing land and sparking heated disapproval from villagers.

To remedy the situation, the Planning Inspectorate has approved Clarkson’s request to extend the car park and has also approved changes to the use of land. However, proposals to set up a restaurant in an area of the site known as Lowland Barn were turned down.

The Clarkson’s Farm star has also recently applied for permission to build a barn at his farm as the business has an “urgent need for additional grain storage”.

Fans of Clarkson’s Farm do not have to wait too long to see the new season. Amazon Prime Video announced that season three of the show will air on 3rd May 2024. The streaming and rental service has also confirmed to be preparing season four of Clarkson’s Farm.
