Six employees from Agrifac UK are taking part in the Three Peaks Challenge this July in aid of Great Ormond Street Hospital. Matt Carse, Chris Coleman, Harrison Barnes, Jamie Sutton, Pete Wiles, and Georgina Garner will all be heading up to Fort William on the weekend of the 20th July to take part in the most intense challenge completed by Agrifac UK to date.
The team will begin the challenge by tackling Ben Nevis in Scotland, before driving down to battle Scafell Pike in the Lake District, and then finally on to Wales to conquer Snowdon, all within 24 hours. This means part of the challenge will be completed under the cover of darkness at night, and into the early hours of the morning. Within this time, the team will walk approximately 36km, climb over 3,000m and drive over 450 miles!
Training for the challenge has already begun in order for the team to conquer the peaks, which will test their physical fitness and stamina. As well as being physically fit, the team will have to battle through mentally as there will be little time to rest and recover between mountains in order to smash the 24 hour time limit.
During the process the team hope to raise funds for the amazing Great Ormond Street Hospital Children’s Charity. The charity supports children across the UK who are going through extremely difficult and life-changing illnesses and treatments. The impact that the charity have on their patients through their amazing work lifts spirits and helps the bravest of patients overcome and battle through their treatments. As well as this, they support the children’s’ families, research into treatments for children’s health, and provide life-saving medical equipment to ensure best possible care of their patients.
The team will be documenting their training and the challenge itself on our social media pages, which you can follow via our social media pages – @AgrifacUK and @hardisprayers.uk
We would be extremely grateful of any support you could give to the team with their challenge. If you would like to make a donation to Great Ormond Street Hospital, please click HERE.
