Beet factory start dates

With the Bury St Edmunds and Wissington sugar beet factories scheduled to open on the 26^th September for the 2018/19 harvesting campaign, British sugar has also announced that the Newark factory campaign start date is 2^nd October, and Cantley follows on the 10^th October.

British Sugar agriculture director, Colm McKay said: “We’re pleased to announce the sugar beet campaign start dates. The dates are aimed at striking a balance between supplying our customers with a quality product, allowing time for the crop to mature, and giving growers and hauliers time to plan their harvesting and delivery schedules.”
