The new season nitrogen market has opened, with a 21% drop on UK Nitram prices.
“Last year saw nitrogen prices increase by over 40% from the launch price, so the new prices are highly competitive,” says David Mitchell, Wynnstay fertiliser manager.

“In line with this, CF Fertilisers has also adjusted the prices on the NPK compound range,” he adds.
“The nitrogen and nitrogen-sulphur grades are available at a flat price throughout May to September, so growers should take advantage and place orders now.
“Availability will be on a first come first served basis, so are not to be missed.”
With the AN verses wheat price ratio the best it has been since 1999, Mr Mitchell predicts that early season buyers will take full advantage and get their 2017/2018 orders in now.
